7-12 Campus Start of Year Communication

Dear 7-12 Campus families,

Week 1 2025 7-12 Campus - Important Information for Students and Families

We are excited to warmly welcome our students (new and returning) to the 7-12 Campus on Tuesday 28th January. All students will begin the day in Home Groups where teachers will receive their program for the day; this will consist of year level specific activities as part of our Quality Start program. If students cannot remember where to find their Home Group, please send them to Student Services for support. If your child is new to the 7-12 Campus, please contact us if you have and questions or concerns about their start in Week 1.

A whole school assembly is scheduled for 9.20am on Tuesday on the COLA; all 7-12 students will attend under the supervision of their Home Group teacher to receive the following reminders:

  • Our school expectations are in line with mandated Department for Education Policies and are communicated to ensure all stakeholders uphold our school values of Respect, Integrity, Determination and Teamwork. These core values underpin our collective actions as a community.
  • Students will receive the 7-12 Campus Student Handbook 2025 which contains our updated Code of Conduct and other policies that need to be read carefully and acknowledged by parents and caregivers by the end of Week 1 (see link to the acknowledgement below).
  • At the 7-12 Campus we provide a warm welcome in Home Groups each day starting with a carefully structured Welcome Circle. Participation in this important daily routine enables students to receive important information and prepare for learning. Students are expected to arrive at Home Room by 8.45am ready for an 8.50am start. Duty of Care legislation requires students using DfE buses to come straight into the campus on arrival each day.
  • Students should note the EFS Secondary Student Mobile Phone and Devices Policy and follow the expectations. The use of mobile devices is banned in all public schools (including during breaks) and students are expected to switch off phones at 8.45am and store them in bags; this includes the use of air pods and earphones (Principal-approved medical exemptions may apply).
  • Predictable routines and consistent expectations are shown to assist students to prepare for, and maintain focus on, learning.  Some things we expect as part of our daily routines are:
    • Students wear the correct uniform each day (if they don’t, they will be required to loan the correct items until such a time that they have the appropriate items). If you have any difficulty sourcing the correct school uniform items, please contact Student Services as soon as possible so we can assist you.
    • Students bring equipment for learning which includes a charged laptop, stationery items and books for their three lessons each day. A water bottle is also strongly encouraged.
    • Students arrive to all scheduled classes on time and stay on school grounds all day. Regular attendance to an approved learning program is mandatory for all children until they turn 17. Students are not permitted to sign out during the school day unless prior parental contact has been made to Student Services, and a prescribed reason for non-attendance has been provided.
    • Recess and Lunch items should be brought to school or purchased in the 7-12 Canteen. Students are not permitted to leave school grounds during the day for the purpose of purchasing food, or use the canteen during learning time.

Click here to access the Acknowledgement of School Policies form and return for each of your children by the end of Week 1. Network access will be revoked if acknowledgement of the Computer Users Policy is not received.

We look forward to working in partnership with our 7-12 families in 2025 and value your cooperation with EFS and DfE Policies to ensure your child makes strong connections, maximises their learning time and stays safe at school.

Further information will be sent to families throughout Term 1. If you have any questions or would like clarification in the meantime, please contact the 7-12 Campus on 8536 2455.

Kind regards

Vanessa Coker
